Study Suggests That TMS Could Be a Treatment for Panic

Panic disorder can be debilitating.  Panic attacks can occur suddenly and may include multiple physical symptoms, such as heart pounding, perfuse sweating, trembling, feeling light-headed, nausea, and a sense of impending doom.  Fear of having another attack can lead to debilitating avoidances of normal activities of daily living, so it is important to address panic disorder symptoms quickly.  The good news is that there are several ways to approach panic disorder, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychiatric medication.

TMS is a proven non-drug noninvasive FDA approved treatment for depression that may help reduce panic symptoms too.
